The world below the waves was having one of its more peaceful days. Remma was out for a swim with Seafoam when RedReef swam by. Heading out for another hunt with Terror. Remma liked being around her father. She never really could understand why no one else really seemed to like him. She sped off after him and came up alongside with Seafoam swimming behind. Remma grinned at her father. *Hey, dad! Where are you going?* RedReef didn’t move his attention. *Hunting.* He never wanted to reply much, because once his daughter got talking she never stopped. Remma looked ahead of her briefly before streaking forward to come up in her father’s face. *Can I go with you!?* RedReef nearly ran into his daughter but stopped quickly and frowned. *No.* A simple answer might quiet her, but RedReef was never so lucky. Remma stopped swimming briefly, a slight frown touching her lips before she smiled a bit brighter and swam after him. *Well, okay! Can I at least swim with you for a while!?* RedReef inwardly sighed. *If you can be quiet.* As usual Remma agreed, but never kept her word for long, After maybe a minute at most she started talking again. *Hey, Dad! Did you know T-* Her father’s sudden and agitated sending cut her off. *Remma, do you ever shut up?* Had RedReef even thought before he spoke, he’d have never said it that way. Remma stopped dead. Had her father really said that to her? Seafoam swam around her, and her hand gripped Seafoam’s dorsal fin and the dolphin helped her catch up with RedReef. RedReef’s stern look when Remma popped up into his vision only further hurt the situation. He wouldn’t even realize what happened until after Remma and Seafoam were far from the reach of his and anyone’s sendings. RedReef would later remember Remma frowning, a first really seeing as she tended to be happy, and her tail coming mere inches from his face when she swam off. With only a few words RedReef had destroyed that image of perfection that his daughter had of him. |
