"Forever"

Freya swam after Tyre as fast as she could. She was so mad at him. How could he go to the human wreckage without her? He knew it was one of her favorite places to explore.

**Tyre, what do you think you're doing?! Why did you leave without me?!**

**Heh, Heh. Why don't you come down here and find out.** He sent to her.

Freya swam to the underbelly of a recently sunken ship. The front half of the ship was hanging over the edge of a great trench. There was a small hole that they had been using to explore it.

Freya slipped through and sent to Tyre. **Where are you?**

**Come up to the next level. I finally got the box open last night. There's something in it I want to give you.**

She followed his sending to what once was the captain's quarters. **So this is where you snuck off to last night. How did you get it open?** She saw him sitting next to the large box that they had been trying to open for days now.

**I was finally able to pry it open. It took most of the night.**

**I know, I missed you.** She had this mischievous grin.

He smiled back at her. **Look at this. See how the serpent doesn't end. It just keeps going, just like my love for you.** He got up & went behind her. He tied the cord of braided tree bark around her neck. Then he kissed her softly. She turned around and put her arms around him.

**Thank you, I'll never take it off, my love.** They kissed passionately. All of a sudden they heard a terrible cracking sound and the ship started to move beneath them.

**Quickly, Freya, get out of here.**

Freya swam through the maze of rubble to get to the small exit. She made a quick turn and ran into a wall. She looked around and wasn't sure where she was.**Tyre, I can't find the exit. Where are you?** She could tell the ship was sliding towards the trench.

**Right here, beloved, this way.** Timbers were falling all over, making it difficult to get around.

**There it is! Go, Freya. I'm right behind you.**

Just as she slipped through she heard a loud crash and Tyre's scream. **Tyre! What's happening? Where are you? You need to get out.**

**I'm pinned....bleeding.....it hurts....**

**I'm coming to get you. Don't worry, you'll be in the healer's hands in no time.**

**NO! The wreck is falling..... no time.......**

**Tyre! Tyre! NO!** She headed back to the wreck. It was tipped at such an angle now, she had to swim next to the cliff wall to get to the opening.

**Healer! You're needed! Swim as fast as you can to the human wreck. Tyre is hurt!** She sent with all her might.

Before she could get to the hole, the wreck fell the rest of the way. Debris fell all around. Bits of it cut her, but she didn't care.

**Freya.....remember.....my love......neverending.....** Tyre sent for the last time.

Freya turned around slowly and swam her way back home. On her way back she ran into the elves that were on their way to help. Seaspice saw that Freya was bleeding.

**What happened? Where is Tyre?**

**He's gone.... the wreck fell into the trench..... Tyre was trapped and he wouldn't let me save him.** Freya was glad that no one could see the tears flowing down her face.

**Here, let me heal you.** Seaspice started to touch her.

**NO, I'll be fine.**

**Maybe we could go down and get him. There still may be time.** She wasn't sure who sent it. At the time she didn't really care.

**It's too late! He's dead! No one has ever reached the bottom of the trench! What makes you think you could now? Tyre is with the High Ones now! Leave him be!** With that she swam back to the palace as fast as she could.
